Question No: 2025/0089
Question (Thomas Turrell AM; Bexley & Bromley): 16th January 2025
In your response to question 2024/3679, you said, "Transport for London’s framework bus service contract has changed little since [1 January] 2016" and confirmed that each issued route contract contains no reference to Vision Zero or the two 'world leading' Bus Safety Programmes TfL has announced since 1 February 2016. To rectify this, will you now commit to incorporating the "Bus Drivers’ Bill of Rights" into TfL’s bus contracts?
Answer (Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan): 21st January 2025
The Bus Framework Agreement is being reviewed. Currently, Transport for London (TfL) is not planning to incorporate the ‘Bus Drivers’ Bill of Rights’ directly into TfL’s bus contracts, as many aspects are already covered by existing agreements, actions or legislation.
