Question No: 2024/2261
Question (Thomas Turrell AM): 18th July 2024
Will you confirm (a) who owns Orpington Bus Garage, (b) to whom is the area of the Garage that was granted planning permission by London Borough of Bromley in 2021 for a pantograph charger leased and c) when did TfL first become aware that it was leased?
Answer (Sadiq Khan): 18th September 2024
Orpington bus garage is owned by Go-Ahead, the bus operating company which currently operates route 358 on Transport for London’s (TfL’s) behalf.
The pantograph charger has been built at Orpington bus station, not at the Orpington bus garage.
TfL engaged with all stakeholders for Orpington bus station at the concept stage of the project in 2021.
