Conservative Candidate Thomas Turrell has been elected to the London Assembly, following elections held on the 2nd May.
The elections coincided with the London Mayoral election which saw Labour’s Sadiq Khan re-elected for a third term in office. Conservative Candidate Susan Hall came second. Across London at the assembly elections Labour remain the largest party at the Assembly on eleven seats, the Conservatives are second largest on eight seats, followed by the Greens on three, Liberal Democrats with two and Reform with one seat.
Locally in Bromley, the Conservatives won a council by-election in Shortlands and Park Langley Ward, with Gemma Turrell being elected.
Thomas was elected as the constituency Assembly Member for Bexley & Bromley, holding the seat for the Conservatives. In his acceptance speech he congratulated Sadiq Khan but claimed that the status quo was not an option.
